Support for Small Business

Running a business is tough. Often we can feel alone, overwhelmed, and unsupported. I’m here to be the person in your corner offering you knowledgeable and compassionate support.

I know what it is like to run small businesses, and I have qualifications in Business and Communications to back up that lived experience.

It’s my hope that everyone in small business in Tasmania has clarity, feels in control of their business (including how it integrates with their life!), and feels connected to other people who understand.

Business Coaching and Support

I coach and mentor working people who are feeling stuck or unsupported, so that they can unshackle themselves from whatever is holding them back, and gain power and clarity in their business and career.


Finding someone to safely and authentically talk to about work is often really difficult.


Often our life partners aren’t that interested, our career issues are out of scope and out of context for our psychologists, and we aren’t able to speak freely in the workplace without fear of consequences.

My business coaching sessions are an opportunity for you to have someone in your corner to support you, who really cares about your success and satisfaction at work. I hold space for you, support you and encourage you - all with compassion and the occasional dollop of candid feedback and curly questions. 

My style of coaching is a mix of:

·        traditional coaching (drawing answers, solutions and insights from you),

·        mentoring (sharing what has worked for me and others), and 

·        advice (giving recommendations about what I think would work in your situation - which you can then take or leave). 

I am really open with my own experience as an employee, employer, consultant and manager – including the hard lessons. I also offer insight from my very mixed career across private enterprise, self-employment, government departments, social enterprise and community services.

My clients love working with me because:

· They have someone else to talk to (who actually gives a shit about their work and business),

· They learn new tools and techniques they haven't come across yet, 

· They get a different perspective on opportunities and problems, and

· They are held accountable to the commitments they make to themselves.

Benjamin Franklin once said “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Dramatic, but there is some truth to it.

I can help you take charge of where you are heading and how you get there. People I have worked with on this in the past talk about the sense of relief and calm they have after doing this process. They feel clearer about what is effective in their business, and what they can let go of.

In this package, you and I can work together to:

·        articulate or review your future vision and purpose,

·        suss out what is going on both inside and outside of the business, and what that means for the future,

·        set some clear and motivating goals (I don’t call them goals, but you’ll learn why when we work together!), 

·        create some core actions to get closer to those goals everyday, and

·        find ways to make sure you stay on track, and can quickly an easily tell if you are going off track.


I’ll share with you everything I’ve learned in my 20 years of experience across many sectors, and in my many roles from check out chick to CEO. My qualifications in marketing and communications come in pretty handy too.
